TEMPORARY BASE. The Company after consultation with the Union may establish temporary Bases when operationally required. A Temporary Base will only exist for twelve (12) months. Should the Company wish to extend the twelve (12) month period, it must be mutually agreed to by the Union and Company.

TEMPORARY BASE. 14.2.1 A temporary base may not be operated for more than six (6) consecutive months. A letter of understanding must be agreed upon before a new base may be opened. 14.2.2 The assignment of FCMs to a temporary base shall not exceed twenty percent (20%) of the total of such personnel, and shall be on a voluntary basis by order of seniority. If there are too few volunteers, assignments shall be filled by pairings by respecting the FCM’s base, or by assigning seasonal FCMs.

TEMPORARY BASE. 9.3.1 When a charter or contract operation requires that an aircraft be positioned away from an established Base temporarily, the Company may offer a temporary Base bid to currently qualified Pilots holding Equipment Assignments to the type, provided that: a) No Pilot other than the most junior qualified will be forced into such a bid. b) No Pilot shall lose his permanent Position or be reduced in Status as a result of a Temporary Base. Temporary Bases will be offered in monthly increments to a maximum of six (6) months. Should such operations extend beyond six (6) months, the Temporary Base will be cancelled unless an extension is mutually agreed between the Company and the Association, which agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld. Pilots assigned to a Temporary Base will be reimbursed for expenses as per Section 19 (EXPENSES LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION), while assigned to a Temporary Base. Should the Pilot be required by the Company to return to his Base during the bid period, he shall travel at the Company’s expense. A Pilot that has vacation that falls within this period will have their vacation reassigned to another period in accordance with Subsection 12.7 (VACATION REASSIGNEMNT). 9.3.2 9.3.3 9.3.4 9.3.5 9.4.1 Pilots holding a position on the same Equipment and Status will be permitted to make a mutual exchange of Base provided: a) The Pilots concerned are entitled by seniority to hold the position at the Base of intended transfer. b) That written approval is obtained from the Company and the MEC Chair, or his designate. c) That the Association receives no objections from any Pilots between the seniority numbers of the two (2) Pilots trading Bases.

Pilots holding the same equipment assignment will be permitted to make a mutual exchange of Base provided: The Pilots concerned are entitled by seniority to hold the position at the base of intended transfer. That written approval is obtained from the Company and the Association. That written approval is obtained from all Pilots between the seniority numbers of the two Pilots trading bases. When a vacancy for a permanent or temporary assignment occurs, the Company shall post a notice for seven (7) calendar days and send a copy to the Association. This notice shall contain at least the following information: status Pilot base equipment expected training commencement date effective date (which must be no longer than expected training commencement date) closing date of posting qualifications duration days from Any Pilot (including one who is out of service, provided he is reasonably expected to be available for work) may submit a bid in writing to the Chief Pilot by the closing date. The Company will make a reasonable effort to ensure that Pilots on vacation will be notified of a vacancy. Pilots are responsible for providing the Company with a reasonable means of contact.
