Common use of Temporary Work/Training Program Clause in Contracts

Temporary Work/Training Program. The District shall post temporary vacancies in Maintenance Worker I and District Grounds positions for the purpose of providing current District workers the opportunity to receive on- the-job training to qualify them to promote. The following shall apply to this program:  Positions which are temporarily vacant must be vacant for one month or more before they are posted.  Workers who bid must complete a training program set up by the District.  Workers who bid cannot be on an improvement plan.  The Union will be consulted and given full opportunity to have input on the training.  Permanent vacancies will be posted immediately, either for temporary assignment or permanently.  Pay for temporary assignments will be not less than 5%.
