Termination of Sick Leave. (a) A unit member who has been placed on paid or unpaid sick leave may return to duty at any time during the leave, provided that he/she is able to resume the assigned duties, and, if the leave has been for more than twenty (20) working days, provided that he/she has notified the Department Head or Supervisor of his/her return at least three (3) working days in advance. (b) If a unit member has exhausted all sick leave and other leaves, paid or unpaid, and is still unable to assume the duties of his/her position, he/she will be placed on the reemployment list for a period of thirty-nine (39) months in the same manner as if he/she were laid off for lack of work or lack of funds.
