The Phase III Cogeneration Facility. This project includes the installation of the two 1.6 MW (3.2 MW total gross output) Caterpillar LFG fired engine-generator sets in the east side of the Cogeneration Facility for the intended purpose of supplying MCASM and/or a wholesale electric buyer with renewable electricity. The existing Cogenerator boiler, chiller and ancillary equipment now located in the Cogeneration Facility will be removed from the premises to provide space for the P3CF and the P3CF Site. The facility design will be coordinated with the architectural theme of the Cogeneration Facility and the Phase III Cogeneration Facility Contractor shall provide valved and capped tees on the Phase III Cogeneration Facility’s engine cooling systems to connect the MBC Heating Hot Water System to future heat recovery heat exchanger(s) to recover the P3CF engine’s jacket water heat. The facility will utilize landfill gas from the Miramar Landfill as the primary fuel. The P3CF will not be connected electrically to the Cogeneration Facility or MBC.
