Project Description General. The NCEP will consist of one 1600 kW engine generator package unit, consisting of one 1600 kW Caterpillar 3520 engine, one 1600kW generator, engine coolant heat radiator and associated switchgear and controls. The facility will also include provisions to connect to future heat recovery heat exchanger(s) to the jacket water. It will include a San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) utility interface, sound attenuation enclosure similar to the those utilized for the NCCF units, and will be designed to coordinate with the existing berm landscaping and industrial theme of the NCCF. The facility will utilize landfill gas delivered by the Gas Producer from the Miramar Landfill as its primary fuel, through the Compressor Station.
Project Description General. The SOW of the C&MSM includes the modifications of the Cogenerator owned switchgear to allow one half of the Cogenerator’s generation (3200KW gross) to be exported on the MBC “B” Bus and one half to supply the MBC on the “A” Bus with any excess energy on the A Bus above the MBC load being exported through the A Bus export meter. The City will perform the necessary modifications to the MBC “B” Bus breakers so that the electrical supply line feeding the Compressor Station is moved off the existing San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) breaker and supplied in the future from one of the spare MBC “B” Bus breakers, thus allowing for a second SDG&E electrical service line to be brought into the MBC switchgear and the rearrangement of the one spare “A” and “B” Bus tie breakers in the MBC switchgear (MBCM). Attachment A provides conceptual one-line electrical diagrams of this work. The CFSM work will be performed by the Cogenerator, as shown conceptually in “Cogen Area” on Attachment A, Figure 1A and 1B, as the Cogenerator’s responsibility for design and construction. The Cogenerator’s total costs for all substantiated City and Cogenerator expenses shall not exceed $200,000 for the C&MSM work.
