Common use of Time Off Provision Clause in Contracts

Time Off Provision. When there is a death in an employee’s immediate family, that employee shall be granted a bereavement leave of a maximum of forty (40) hours per occurrence in order to attend the funeral. Bereavement leave will not be charged against sick leave, vacation or holiday time. If the employee needs additional time off due to the death of the immediate family member, the employee may request such additional time off, using accrued vacation leave. Approval of such request for time off shall be at the sole and exclusive discretion of the Department Director or designee.
