TOP SOIL. For residential lawns and areas maintained as mowed turf, where top soil has been removed or buried, sufficient top soil shall be placed on disturbed sites to bring the total depth to four inches minimum. All top soil shall be a natural, friable, granular soil that contains not less than 6% or more than 12% organic matter. This soil shall be a xxxxx loam, not less than 20% or more than 65% passing a number 200 mesh sieve, uniform in composition and texture, and free from subsoil, stones greater than 1”, seeds, plant roots, harmful chemicals or other foreign matter.
TOP SOIL. A. Contractor shall provide all topsoil required for finishing to grades shown on Drawings. Topsoil shall be provided from site stockpiles or from off-site sources as necessary.
TOP SOIL. Topsoil to be used later for verges or to cover embankment slopes and borrow pits shall be stockpiled on well-drained ground to be approved by the Engineer.
