Common use of Underclearance Record Clause in Contracts

Underclearance Record. The Engineer shall complete this form for all grade separations, including pedestrian, utility, and railroad underpasses. The Engineer shall provide a brief sketch indicating dimensions and reference points for collected vertical and horizontal clearance data. The Engineer shall also record existing vertical clearance signs. NBI Item 54.2 must represent the minimum vertical clearance under the structure over any portion of the useable pavement in travel lanes or flush and paved shoulders and medians. The Engineer shall not use ultrasonic measuring devices. For On- System grade-separations, the Engineer shall not collect any vertical clearance measurements. Any needed vertical clearance sign corrections shall be reported in the Lists of Structures. See Section 32.b.
