Common use of Union Administrative Committee Clause in Contracts

Union Administrative Committee. The Employer will recognize a Union Administrative Committee which will consist of five (5) union stewards, one (Io)f whom will be the Chief Xxxxxxx, and all of whom will be selected by the Union, not more than one (1) of the committee members shall meet with management at any one (It)ime. The representation by stewards shall be structured as follows: Street Church Street Outreach Services The Union acknowledgesthat the members of the UnionAdministrative Committee must continue to performtheir regular duties, and that so far as possible all activities of the committee will be carried on outside of the regular working hours of the members thereof, unless otherwise mutually arranged. A request for such meetingwill be made in writing at least one (1) week prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of a grievance or matters that are properly the subject of negotiations for the amendment of this agreement. The Committee shall have the authority to bring forward recommendationsto the Union and/or the Employer.

(a) A Xxxxxxx may be permitted by her supervisor during working hours to leave her post to investigate complaints and/or grievances. The Employer shall pay the Xxxxxxx their respective wages for all time lost from regularly scheduled hours investigating and/or processing grievances. Such persons will not leave their regular duties without notifying their immediate supervisor and will report back to the supervisor when they return to their regular duties. Such consent shall not be unreasonably withheld by the supervisor. Union Stewards shall be paid for all time spent in a grievance meeting that occurs during their regularly scheduled hours and such payment will include up to and including any grievance mediation. All time paid shall be considered time worked. If a Xxxxxxx needs to have a replacement for an evening or night shift, because of the time of day in which the meeting must take place and/or duration of a meeting, the Xxxxxxx will be paid for the shift that has been replaced. (b) All discipline, except verbal warning, will be given in writing. Both the employee and the Chief Xxxxxxx will be given a copy. If an employee is to be called in by the Employer to discuss a matter that involves progressive discipline, she shall be so advised prior to entering meeting. Unless the date proposed and employee wishes otherwise, she shall be accompanied by an agenda a Xxxxxxx who shall attend the meeting without any loss of matters proposed wages. Where more than one Xxxxxxx is on the premises, the employee shall be accompanied by a Xxxxxxx of her choosing. (c) Disciplinary meetings shall take place during the employee’s scheduled shift unless, due to be discussedthe nature of the infraction, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of a grievance Employer deems it necessary to take immediate action or matters that are properly the subject of negotiations for the amendment of this agreement. The Committee shall have the authority to bring forward recommendationsto the Union and/or the Employerno union representation is available.

A request for such meetingwill be made confirmed in writing at least one (1) week prior to the date proposed employee within three (3) days of the meeting. (f) The Employer agrees to provide a template copy of any documents requesting employees’ signatures, new policies or procedures to a Union Xxxxxxx and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly through the subject of a grievance or matters that are properly the subject of negotiations for the amendment of this agreement. Where employees are on approved Union Business for which the Employer has been provided notification prior to schedule posting deadlines, the Employer agrees to pay the employee for the approved hours, subject to the legislated and hours of work limitations and without creating or causing any premium payments. The Union agrees to reimburse the Employer fully for these costs upon receipt of invoice from the Employer.
