Union Committee. The Union shall appoint and maintain a Committee comprising persons who are employees of the Employer, and/or the Senior Union Official, or her/his representative, which shall be known as the Union Committee. The Union at all times shall keep the Employer informed of the individual membership of the Committee.

Union Committee. 6.01 The Union shall elect or otherwise select and the Employer shall recognize a Union Committee, consisting of not more than eight (8) employees. The Union will provide the Employer the names of the Union Committee, including alternates, in writing before the Employer shall give recognition to them. The Employer will meet with the Union Committee on any matter properly arising out of this Agreement, and/or to process grievances in accordance with the Grievance Procedure. (a) The Union acknowledges that the Union Committee must continue to perform their regular duties and that so far as possible all activities of the Union Committee will be carried on outside of the regular working hours of the members thereof unless otherwise mutually arranged. Each Union Xxxxxxx may designate an alternate to act in his/her absence for a specific occasion. (b) The Union acknowledges that the Union Committee has regular duties which must be performed on behalf of the Employer and that such employee will not leave their regular duties without obtaining permission to do so from their Supervisor. Permission to leave their regular duties will not be unreasonably withheld by the affected Supervisor. (c) It is agreed there will be no deduction from the pay of the Union Committee members for time spent while meeting with representatives of the Employer during the Union Committee's scheduled working hours. 6.03 providing there are matters arising out of the Agreement to be discussed, the Union Committee and the Employer Representatives will meet each month. Such meeting will be arranged within one week after one party notifies the other by letter of the matters for discussion. The Employer agrees to prepare an agenda for these meetings outlining the date, the time and matters to be discussed, with such agenda sent to all persons who are to be present at the meeting. 6.04 The Negotiating Committee will be comprised of members of the Union Committee as per Article 6. 01. The Employer will pay for up to 3 committee members as the Union Negotiating Committee. Notwithstanding the union’s right to add to up to two more members at a cost to be borne by the Union. It is understood that the Employer will pay the three (3) negotiating committee members their normal regular daily wages for the number of days spent at negotiations.
Union Committee. The Union shall appoint and maintain a committee composed of two (2) persons plus alternates who are employees of the Employer, and the Secretary-Business Manager, or their representative, which shall be known as the Union Committee. The time spent by Shop Stewards or Union Committee Members in the course of their duties shall be considered as time worked or paid at straight-time wages and shall not be subject to Article 10 of the Collective Agreement.
Union Committee. 12.1 The Corporation acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Union Committee composed of four (4) employees, plus the Local Union President and the Union’s National Representative and will recognize and deal with the said Committee with respect to any matter which properly arises from time to time during the term of this Agreement, including the negotiating of a new Collective Agreement. 12.2 The Union shall advise the Corporation of the personnel serving on this Committee, and it is understood that the President of Local No. 53 may, at his discretion, attend all meetings between the Corporation and the Union.
Union Committee. 5.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or elect a Facility Committee of two (2) Committee persons and a Chairperson and alternates. Such Facility Committee shall constitute the Bargaining Committee. The Company will recognize and bargain with the committee on any matter properly arising from time to time during the continuance of the agreement. The Chairperson will be assigned to the day shift. a) The company agrees to a one hour monthly industrial relations committee meeting with the Operations Manager and Human Resource Manager from the Company and the three (3) Union committee members. Committee members that attend the meeting outside their normal shift will be paid one hour of pay at the applicable rate for participating in the meeting. 5.02 In the event that the Union appoints alternates for any or all committee persons and the Chairperson, the Company will be advised of such appointments as soon as is practical in writing. In the event of an absence of the Chairperson, a Committee person will become the alternate. 5.03 The Company agrees to add the Chairperson to a distribution list whereby they will receive copies of notices of appointments of personnel to the positions of supervisor, manager, or other persons with authority who may have jurisdiction over members of the Union. 5.04 The Chairperson will be supplied on a quarterly basis with written information listing new hires, including department and classifications, discharge, resignations, recalls, changes in classification, transfers of employees covered by this agreement, employees transferred out of the bargaining unit, layoffs, employees who have lost seniority, and employees on a leave of absence. 5.05 The Company will provide a working station for the Chairperson that will include a desk, filing cabinet(s), telephone and access to a desktop computer and fax machine. The Company will also provide access to a confidential office for meetings. 5.06 The Committee person shall be permitted during working hours and without loss of pay to investigate and process grievances in the administration of the Collective Agreement. A Committee person shall obtain permission from their supervisor before leaving their work area to investigate and deal with a complaint or grievance. Such permission will not be unreasonably denied. 5.07 The company agrees that the Union Chairperson will be given an opportunity to interview each new employee including temporary employees within regular...
Union Committee. 6.01 The Union shall have the right to appoint or otherwise select: (a) a negotiating committee of three (3) employees, and (b) seven (7) employees (as Stewards and Chief Xxxxxxx) to deal with matters relating to the administration of this Agreement, but with a limit of two (2) employees from any one department. The above noted employees will be permitted to participate in meetings with Employer representatives on matters relating to either negotiations or administration of this Agreement, including arbitration. The authorized time spent in such meetings shall be without loss of regular pay or benefit. Authorized attendance at arbitration shall be limited to the Local Union Unit Vice President or designate, Chief Xxxxxxx, a Xxxxxxx, the grievor(s), and such other employee witnesses as may be required. Employee members of the Union negotiating committee who are scheduled to work afternoons or evenings are to be relieved from their scheduled shift preceding or following a negotiating meeting between the Union and the Employer. Provided that they attend the negotiating meeting, such employees shall be paid as though they had worked the shift. The parties shall co-operate in scheduling negotiating meetings to minimize the impact on staffing levels at the Home.
Union Committee. 8.01 The Board acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or otherwise appoint a Union Committee to be comprised of four (4) employee members to be representative of the employees throughout the Board's jurisdiction. The Board will recognize and bargain with this committee on any matter properly arising from time to time under the terms of and during the continuation of this agreement. The Local Union President shall be allowed to attend meetings between the Board and the Union for purposes of negotiations, the grievance meetings immediately preceding arbitration, arbitration hearings, and other meetings properly arising under the terms of this collective agreement. The Union agrees to supply the Board with the names of the members constituting the Committee, and to keep such list up-to-date at all times. 8.02 Each member of the Committee will represent a defined area of the Board's operation. The area in which each is to operate shall be communicated to the Board, in writing, by the Union.

Union Committee. 4.01 The Company agrees to recognize up to six stewards plus the Chairperson, to represent groups of employees including laboratory and part-time employees. a) After obtaining permission from his/her supervisor, a Xxxxxxx shall be permitted, during regular working hours, to leave his/her regular duties without loss of pay in order to investigate or process a grievance. b) If it is necessary for a Xxxxxxx to leave his/her own area and proceed into another area for purposes of investigating or processing a grievance he/she must first obtain permission from the Supervisor of that area. 4.02 a) There shall be a Grievance Committee which shall be drawn from the Xxxxxxx group. The Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Secretary, plus the grievor and his/her own Xxxxxxx will attend third step grievance meetings. There shall be a Negotiating Committee, which shall be composed of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and two Stewards. There shall be a Labour-Management Committee composed of the Chairperson and up to four stewards. The Labour-Management Committee will meet once per month. There shall be a Joint Health and Safety Committee with Union representation of four employees and an equal number of Management representatives. The parties agree to recognize that the role of the women’s advocate will be served by a Unifor female member either elected or appointed by the union. The Unifor female representative will meet with members as required to discuss problems they my have and refer them to the appropriate community agency when necessary. Such meetings should not happen while employees should otherwise be working. The women’s advocate will participate in a 5 day basic training program and the union will be responsible for all associated costs including lost wages. The Union and Company may also form such other committees as are required and will establish the mandate and composition of such committees prior to their creation.
