Common use of Union Dues and Initiation Fees Clause in Contracts

Union Dues and Initiation Fees. The City agrees to deduct Union dues and initiation fees from the paycheck of each employee within the bargaining unit who has signed an authorized payroll deduction card for the amount certified in writing to the City by the Union as the current rate of membership dues. The City will deduct two and one-quarter (2 ¼) hours of pay as union dues each month at the employee’s base hourly rate in effect for the 1st paycheck of each month. The City will be notified of any change in the rate of membership dues thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of such change.
