Common use of UNION JURISDICTION Clause in Contracts

UNION JURISDICTION. The Contractor agrees to recognize the inside and outside jurisdiction as outlined in the Constitution of the IBEW in the performance of all electrical work performed within the geographic jurisdiction of the union. The scope of this Agreement shall not apply to electrical work involved in the following: ▪ Institutional work ▪ Commercial work other than those areas as defined in the Agreement ▪ Industrial work ▪ Residential apartment house work ▪ Linework Residential Low-Rise shall include, but not be restricted to, the electrical work involved in the following: ▪ New homes of any size or type; ▪ Single family, multiple family or in developments, townhouses, row houses and prefabricated houses of all types (all of which may be wood, metal stud, block, concrete or plastic construction); ▪ Repairs and rewiring in existing homes; ▪ Service work on all of the above. If prior to the tender closing a question arises as to whether the job comes under the scope of this Agreement or the ICI Agreement, it will be the Employers’ responsibility to contact the union Business Manager for clarification. The Business Manager’s decision can be referred to the Residential Grievance Board under Article 12.01.
