Common use of UNION XXXXXXX Clause in Contracts

UNION XXXXXXX. The union may designate employees in the bargaining unit to act as stewards and/or alternates and shall inform the employer in writing of such choices and changes in the positions of stewards and/or alternates. Stewards shall be permitted reasonable time to perform and discharge the duties that are properly assigned to them under terms of this AGREEMENT. The stewards shall be permitted reasonable time to process grievances without loss of time or pay during regular working hours. Stewards shall be allowed reasonable time to transmit messages which have originated with and are authorized by the union so long as the transmission of said messages does not interfere with their regular work assignment.
