Common use of Unit Member Notification to the District Clause in Contracts

Unit Member Notification to the District. A unit member shall 11 notify the District by telephone or in writing of his/her intent to accept or refuse 12 employment within five (5) working days following receipt of the reemployment 13 notice. Failure by the unit member to tender the notice to the District within five (5) 14 days, as provided for herein, shall be deemed a refusal of the employment by said 15 unit member. The laid-off unit member may decline two (2) offers of equal 16 employment before being placed at the bottom of the list. If a unit member on a 17 reemployment list refuses a third offer of employment, no additional offers will be 18 made, and the unit member shall be considered to have voluntarily resigned.
