Common use of University Closure Clause in Contracts

University Closure. Should the University, or an area of the University, be officially closed for a temporary period due to environmental conditions, utility disruptions, road conditions, acts of God or other reasons beyond the control of the employees covered by this Agreement, employees shall receive salary maintenanceduring the closure. These closures shall not be considered a University holiday as in Article 13. Those employees required to remain on the job shall be given the equivalent time off with such time off to be taken within the current fiscal year. Should these employees be required to remain beyond their normal hours of work, the provisions of Article 16.3 shall apply.
