Overtime Compensation. 1. Except as provided in this section, Grantee will be responsible for any obligations of premium overtime pay due employees. Premium overtime pay is defined as any compensation paid to an individual in addition to the employee’s normal rate of pay for hours worked in excess of normal working hours. 2. Funds provided under this Contract may be used to pay the premium portion of overtime only under the following conditions: i. With the prior written approval of System Agency; ii. Temporarily, in the case of an emergency or an occasional operational bottleneck; iii. When employees are performing indirect functions, such as administration, maintenance, or accounting; iv. In performance of tests, laboratory procedures, or similar operations that are continuous in nature and cannot reasonably be interrupted or otherwise completed; or v. When lower overall cost to System Agency will result.

Overtime Compensation. 7.5.1 Overtime compensation or compensatory time off in lieu of compensation shall be provided employees authorized by their immediate supervisor to work in excess of eight (8) hours in any one (1) day, or in excess or forty (40) hours in any work week. 7.5.2 Unit members authorized by the immediate supervisor and who provide service to the Employer for five (5) consecutive work days averaging four (4) hours or more per day shall be provided either overtime compensation or compensatory time off in lieu of compensation on the sixth (6th) and seventh (7th) day following the commencement of the basic work week. 7.5.3 Unit members authorized by the immediate supervisor and whose average work day is less than four (4) hours shall be provided overtime compensation or compensatory time off in lieu of compensation on the seventh (7th) day following the commencement of the basic work week. 7.5.4 For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, time during which an employee is excused from work because of holidays, sick leave, vacation, compensatory time off, or other paid leave of absence shall be considered as time worked by the employee. 7.5.5 For authorized overtime worked, an employee shall be paid at a rate equivalent to one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay, or, at the employee's option and with the Employer's approval, the employee may elect to receive compensatory time off in lieu of compensation at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) hours off for each overtime hour worked. Compensatory time off in lieu of compensation shall be scheduled in the same manner as vacations are normally scheduled and shall be granted within the current fiscal year but no later than six (6) calendar months following the month the overtime service was rendered. If the employee is unable to take the time off or if the Employer rejects the employee's request for compensatory time off in lieu of compensation, the employee shall be compensated therefore by payment for the overtime worked as set forth herein. Accumulated compensatory time off shall not exceed forty (40) hours of paid compensatory time off at any one time without prior written approval of the Department Administrator or the Superintendent. Overtime Compensation. Overtime worked shall be compensated at the following rates: (a) time and one-half for the first four hours of overtime on a regularly scheduled workday; (b) double-time in excess of four hours; (c) double-time for all hours worked on a day of rest, employees shall not have the day off rescheduled; Overtime shall be paid on the employee's next regular paycheque.
Overtime Compensation. Employees requested to work in excess of the normal daily full shift hours as outlined in Clause 14.2 (Hours of Work), or who are requested to work on their scheduled day of rest, will be paid: (a) time and one-half for the first two hours of overtime on a regularly scheduled workday; and (b) double-time for hours worked in excess of the two hours referred to in (a) above; (c) double-time for all hours worked on a scheduled day of rest. The compensation of overtime in (a) and (b) is to be on a daily basis and not cumulative. An employee may choose to receive equivalent compensatory time off in lieu of overtime. Time off will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time.

The Employer may determine the means of such travel. d) Employees shall have the option of receiving cash for overtime compensation or equivalent compensatory time off. e) Where the employee opts for payment in cash, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to make payment by the end of the month following the month in which the overtime was worked. f) i) An employee shall not have more than sixty (60) hours for Appendix 2(a) employees or seventy (70) hours for Appendix 2(b) employees of compensatory time banked at any one time. When an employee opts for compensatory time off, such time off shall be taken at a time mutually agreed to between the Employer and the employee. However, for compensatory time earned in November or December, it may be mutually agreed to schedule such time off within the first six (6) months of the following year. Such agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld by the Employer.
Overtime Compensation. Time worked in addition to the regular scheduled shifts or time worked in a bi- weekly pay period that is in excess of the bi-weekly hours shall be compensated at the rate of one and one half (1½T) times the regular hourly rate for the overtime worked. An Employee who works in excess of four (4) hours overtime in any one day shall be compensated at the rate of two times (2T) the regular hourly rate for the overtime worked which shall include the first four (4) hours at double time.

Overtime Compensation. A. An employee who performs work in a higher classification shall have overtime compensation computed at the first step rate of the higher classification, unless the employee's regular rate of compensation is higher, in which case the overtime compensation shall be computed at the employee's regular rate of compensation. B. An employee who performs overtime work in a lower classification shall have overtime compensation computed at the employee's regular rate of compensation unless it is higher than the maximum of the grade in which overtime is rendered, in which case he/she shall be paid at the maximum rate for the grade in which service is rendered.
Overtime Compensation. 165. Appointing officers may require employees to work longer than the normal work day or longer than the normal work week. Any time worked under proper authorization of the appointing officer or his/her designated representative or any hours suffered to be worked by an employee, exclusive of part-time employees, in excess of the regular or normal work day or week shall be designated as overtime and shall be compensated at one-and-one-half times the base hourly rate which may include a night differential if applicable; provided that employees working in classifications that are designated in this agreement as having a normal work day of less than eight (8) hours or a normal work week of less than forty (40) hours shall not be entitled to overtime compensation for work performed in excess of said specified normal hours until they exceed eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per week, provided further, that employees working in a flex-time program shall be entitled to overtime compensation as provided herein when required to work more than eight hours in a day or eighty hours per payroll period. Overtime compensation so earned shall be computed subject to all the provisions and conditions set forth herein.
