Use of Personal Automobile. A. Effective upon the execution date of this Agreement, unit members who use their personal automobile for assigned non-campus University business shall receive reimbursement by the University as follows: 1. For the first 8,000 miles in the fiscal year, the unit member will receive mileage payments equal to the rate paid by the State of Maine. 2. For all miles in excess of 8,000 the unit member shall receive the rate approved by the Internal Revenue Service. 3. For the life of this agreement, unit members may receive reimbursement of an additional five cents (5¢) per mile if they use their personal vehicle to carpool with other employees(s). The unit member claiming the additional reimbursement shall be required to certify in writing the names of passenger(s).
