Common use of VDT Users Eye Examination Clause in Contracts

VDT Users Eye Examination. The County agrees to provide an annual eye examination on County time at County expense provided that the employee regularly uses a video display terminal at least an average of two (2) hours per day as certified by their department. Employees certified for examination under this program must process their request through the Employee Benefits Division of the Human Resources Department. Should prescription VDT eyeglasses be prescribed for the employee following the examination, the County agrees to provide, at not cost, the basic coverage which includes a ten dollar ($10) frame and single vision lenses. Employees may, through individual arrangement between the employee and their doctor and solely at the employee's expense, include bifocal, trifocal or blended lenses and other care, services or materials not covered by the Plan. The basic plan coverage, including the examination, may be credited toward the employee-enhanced benefit.
