Wage Schedules - Community Health Workers. (a) Employees shall be compensated as outlined in Schedule B (Wage Schedule). (1) An employee classified as a CHWII must hold the Provincial Home Support Certificate or a recognized post-secondary educational equivalent. (2) An employee currently classified as a CHWII shall maintain their classification. (3) An employee who was classified as a CHWII, pursuant to previous individual agency Memorandum of Agreement, shall continue to be covered by the provisions of the Memorandum. (c) An employee classified as a CHWII shall be assigned to personal assistance clients, as assessed by the purchaser(s) of the service, and shall be paid the CHWII rate of pay for all hours worked in providing service to those clients. Employees classified as a CHWII may opt to receive additional hours of work in the CHWI classification, pursuant to Article 15 (Hours of Work and Scheduling-Community Health Workers). Employees who exercise this option shall be paid the CHWI rate of pay immediately lower than the employee's CHWII rate for all hours worked in the CHWI classification. (d) An employee classified as a CHWI shall be assigned to non-personal assistance clients, as assessed by the purchaser(s) of the service, and shall be paid for the CHWI rate of pay for all hours worked in providing service to those clients. An employee classified as a CHWI may be trained to provide personal assistance service to a specific client, at the option of the Employer. In such cases, the employee shall be paid the CHWII rate of pay for all hours worked in providing service to that specific client. When CHWI employees who have a home support certificate (or a recognized post-secondary equivalent) are assigned to personal assistance clients, they will be paid at the CHWII rate for all service to those clients on the following basis: at the first increment CHWII rate for CHWI employees who are the first and second increments, and the second increment CHWII rate for CHWI employees who are at the third increment. (e) All hours paid by the Employer shall be taken into consideration for increment progression purposes.
