Water Service Connections. Water services shall not be less than 20mm internal diameter and shall be installed to the standards of the Ministry of the Environment’s Design Guidelines for Drinking-Water Systems to which the Certificate of Approval was subject. Service boxes shall be marked by 2 x 4 markers of a minimum length of 1.5m buried to 50% of their length beside said service boxes and have that portion remaining above ground painted fluorescent blue.

Water Service Connections. The Village may permit owners of land within the Mt. Pleasant Service Area abutting any water main designed to provide direct service to land (e.g. not designed solely for purposes of looping) that is part of the Racine Water System to connect to such main (up to the full future growth capacity of such main) for their water needs, upon Village approval of their applications for such connections. Any such water service connection shall be made only in accordance with the rules and regulations of the City, as filed with and approved by the PSC. A water meter shall be supplied, installed and maintained by the Racine Utility. The water meter shall remain the property of the Racine Utility, and shall be subject to inspection by the Racine Utility. The Village shall not allow service to a new connection, other than the testing of the water service, until after a water meter has been installed by the Racine Utility.
Water Service Connections a) The Superintendent shall determine the size of the pipes and fittings to be connected to a water main, but no water service connection shall be less than 19 mm diameter for a copper water service and no less than 25.4 mm nominal diameter for a polyethylene water service, and he shall also determine the position in the street where the water service connection may be connected to any water main. b) Acceptable material for water service connection pipes shall be Type K soft copper or Series 160 polyethylene Rehau "Municipex" water service pipe. c) All water service connections shall be at least 1.8 m below the finished grade of the street in which such services are laid or, if at lesser depth, shall be properly protected from freezing, per the attached drawing Subsurface Water Pipe Installation Specification. d) All metal appurtenances such as service saddles, main stops, curb stops, etc. shall be bronze or stainless steel, unless protected with a cathodic protection system. e) Curb stop control rods shall be stainless steel. f) All non-metallic piping should include a tracer wire system extending the full length of the pipe.
