Without Pay - Union Position. without pay to an employee to hold a position with the Union or its affiliates. Time spent with the Union will be considered as service with the College and the employee will continue to accrue seniority with the College during such period. At the commencement of the leave, an employee will advise the College whether or not she wishes to participate in the College Benefit Plans. It is understood that participation is subject to approval of the carrier of the Plan. The Union will reimburse the College for the cost of such premiums. If the duration of the leave exceeds 8 months, the College may fill the position and the person so chosen shall be considered as having temporary full-time or temporary part-time status notwithstanding the categorization otherwise applicable under Article 9.
