Work in Higher Classification. 20-1 If an employee is temporarily (that is, on a day-to-day basis) assigned to a job with a higher rate of pay for four (4) or more continuous hours and the employee is capable of doing the job, the employee shall receive the rate of the higher job classification. The employee will receive the increase in pay for all hours worked in the assignment. For custodial staff hired on or after 7/1/08, the applicable higher class pay rate is the “7/2/99 and after” rate in Appendix C. CREW LEADER 20-2 In the absence of, or to assist regular supervisory staff, the University may temporarily assign an available regular bargaining unit employee in the required classification and shift as a crew leader to direct other employees in the performance of their duties.
