Working Out of Classification. 11.1 Employer shall avoid, whenever possible, working an employee on an out-of-class assignment for a prolonged period of time. Any employee working an out-of-class assignment for a period in excess of fifteen (15) working days during a year shall receive the rate of pay for the out-of-class assignment in a higher classification not later than the sixteenth (16th) day of such assignment. For purposes of this Article, an out-of-class assignment is defined as an assignment of an employee to perform, on a full-time basis, all of the significant duties and responsibilities of a position different from the employee’s regular position, and which is in a classification higher than the classification held by such employee. The rate of pay for an approved out-of-class assignment shall be the same rate the employee would receive if such employee received a regular appointment to the higher classification.
Working Out of Classification. Whenever an employee is assigned the principal duties and responsibilities of an employee in a higher classification for a single shift or greater period of time, that employee shall be paid a minimum of three (3) steps above their present salary, or shall receive the salary at the bottom of the range for the classification which they are working in, whichever is greater, for all such time worked.
Working Out of Classification. 13.1 Employees assigned by the Employer to assume the full responsibilities and authority of a higher job classification shall receive the salary schedule of the higher classification for the duration of the assignment.
Working Out of Classification. Employees in full-time non-seasonal job classifications as listed in Appendix B who are temporarily assigned by a designated management representative the duties of a classification assigned a higher wage rate, will be paid four percent (4%) above the employee's current rate for each hour worked in the higher class upon completing at least four (4) hours of a workday in the higher class. Working out of class assignments are not to be used in lieu of seeking approval for filling a vacant position, nor shall it be used for the sole purpose of paying an employee at a higher class in circumvention of the requirements set forth by the Civil Service Commission.
Working Out of Classification. A) In the instance where a bargaining unit member is temporarily assigned to a higher classification, he/she will receive a pay rate adjustment if he/she works in the higher classification for a continuous period of two (2) weeks or more. The pay adjustment will increase the employee’s hourly rate of pay by ten percent (10%) or to the starting rate of pay for the higher classification, whichever is greater. The parties agree employees shall normally not be “temporarily assigned” for more than one hundred twenty (120) days in any twelve (12) month period, unless the parties mutually agree to a longer assignment. However, in a situation where a bargaining unit member is “temporarily assigned” to a higher classification due to illness, injury or some other approved leave of absence of another bargaining unit employee, the temporary assignment will last for the duration of the approved leave of absence.
Working Out of Classification. 9.1 For the purposes of this Article, working out of classification shall mean the temporary assignment or appointment of an employee to perform substantially the duties and responsibilities of a higher classification.
Working Out of Classification. 8.8.1 A worker who is required to work in a position in a higher salary range than the regularly assigned position for more than 5 working days in any 15-calendar day period shall be paid on the appropriate salary range for the position temporarily filled. Working Out of Classification. When an employee is assigned to perform some of the duties of a position intermittently at a higher level classification that are not in their current classification, the employee shall be paid five percent (5%) differential for all hours worked in a higher classification.
Working Out of Classification. 3 (A) An employee covered by this Agreement who is required to accept the 4 responsibilities and carry out the duties of a position or rank above that which 5 one normally holds shall be paid an additional ten percent (10%) of their base 6 pay per hour while so acting.
Working Out of Classification. Any employee who is assigned by appropriate authority to perform all of the duties of a higher paying classification and/or assignment for a continuous period of one (1) day or any portion thereof or longer shall be paid at the first pay step of the higher position for each day worked at the higher classification and/or assignment.
