Aboveground storage tank definition

Aboveground storage tank shall have the meaning ascribed to such term in Section 6901 et seq., as amended, of RCRA, or any applicable state or local statute, law, ordinance, code, rule, regulation, order ruling, or decree governing aboveground storage tanks.
Aboveground storage tank or “AST” means any vessel that has a liquid capacity of 110 gallons or more, is intended for fixed installation, is not solely used for processing, and does not meet the definition of an underground storage tank.
Aboveground storage tank or “AST” means any tank, other than an underground storage tank, used to store any of the following petroleum products: gasoline, diesel, kerosene, used oil, or heating oil.

Aboveground storage tank or "AST" means a single aboveground containment vessel having a capacity of greater than 250 gallons and currently or previously having contained Regulated Substances on or after January 1,1992. The term includes all ancillary aboveground pipes and Dispensing Systems up to the first point of isolation and all ancillary underground pipes and Dispensing Systems. Within this definition, the word "vessel" includes any container that can be partially visually inspected, from the exterior, in an underground area. The term AST does not include any of the following:
