Academic Decision definition

Academic Decision as that term is used in this Letter of Understanding, shall mean a decision made by the University in furtherance of Academic objectives including those related to meeting Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (“RCPS”) or College of Family Physicians of Canada (“CFPC”) requirements. For clarity, the definition of “Academic” in s. 1 of the Collective Agreement is incorporated into the definition of “Academic Decision”.

Examples of Academic Decision in a sentence

  • Where the University makes an Academic Decision that a strict application of any of Appendix A Articles 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 19 or 20 conflicts with the academic requirements of a Resident, or a Residency Program, the University may decide to vary the application to the Resident of the applicable matter(s) in Appendix A.

  • A decision made by the University that is an Academic Decision is not subject to the dispute resolution process set out in this Letter of Understanding or under any process available in the Collective Agreement, but a Resident may avail themself of the provisions of Section 12 and 13 of this Letter of Understanding.

  • Where the arbitrator concludes that the decision was not an Academic Decision, then the dispute on the variance is arbitrable and the arbitrator has jurisdiction to fashion an appropriate remedy for the failure to adhere to the applicable Article(s) of the Collective Agreement.

  • For clarity, RDBC acknowledges that any dispute arising from an Academic Decision by the University that a Resident’s performance is not meeting Academic standards such that remediation and/or probation and/or dismissal from the Program may be warranted will not be resolved pursuant to the dispute resolution processes outlined in this Letter of Understanding or under the Collective Agreement.

  • If the Resident is unable to resolve any dispute with the Program Director related to an Academic Decision made by the University under Section 10 of this Letter of Understanding, then the Resident may refer the matter to the Associate Xxxx, Postgraduate Medical Education (the “Associate Xxxx”) for further discussion.

  • RDBC’s challenge to the decision to vary will be limited to whether or not the University’s decision was an Academic Decision.

  • Where the arbitrator concludes that the decision was an Academic Decision, then the matter is not arbitrable.

Related to Academic Decision

  • Informed decision means a decision by a qualified patient to request and obtain a prescription for medication that the qualified patient may self-administer to end the qualified patient's life in a humane and dignified manner that is based on an appreciation of the relevant facts and that is made after being fully informed by the attending physician of:

  • Adverse decision means any decision by a review agent not to certify an admission,

  • key decision * means an executive decision which is likely to:

  • Proposed decision means the presiding officer’s recommended findings of fact, conclusions of law, decision, and order in a contested case in which the administrator did not preside.

  • Final Decision means a final action of the commission determining the legal rights, duties, or privileges of any person. “Final decision” does not include preliminary, procedural, or intermediate actions by the commission, actions regulating the internal administration of the commission, or actions of the commission to enter into or refrain from entering into contracts or agreements with vendors to provide goods or services to the commission.

  • Academic Board means the Academic Board of the University College established under paragraph 13;

  • the decisions means the decisions of the CMA on the questions which it is required to answer by virtue of section 35 of the Act;

  • Academic Council means the Academic Council of the University;

  • Academic year means the period of twelve months beginning on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July or 1st September according to whether the course in question begins in the winter, the spring, the summer or the autumn respectively but if students are required to begin attending the course during August or September and to continue attending through the autumn, the academic year of the course is to be considered to begin in the autumn rather than the summer;

  • JPC means Joint Planning Committee.

  • Academic Unit means an Academic Department, research unit, School, non-departmentalized Faculty, Faculty of Medicine Division, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, the School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies, the Student Wellness and Counselling Centre, or the University Library, to which one (1) or more ASMs have their primary or sole appointment. For Counselling Faculty Members at Xxxxxxxx Campus who are not members of a School, the Academic Unit shall be Xxxxxxxx Campus. For Faculty Members in the Faculty of Medicine who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the Faculty.

  • Record of Decision means a Record of Decision of an application for municipal planning approval as contemplated in section 55;

  • Design Team means Architect and its Subconsultants as set forth in the Design Services Agreement.

  • Adequacy Decision means a decision issued by the European Commission that a country or region or a category of recipients in such country or region is deemed to provide an “adequate” level of data protection.

  • Responding tribunal means the authorized tribunal in a responding state or foreign country.

  • Final administrative decision means a decision by an agency

  • Review Board has the meaning provided in Section 2.1(f)(i) of this Commercial Shared-Loss Agreement.

  • Health care decision means any decision regarding the health care of the prospective donor.

  • Appellate Decision-maker means a person who considers and decides appeals of determinations regarding responsibility and dismissals of formal complaints. The Appellate Decision-maker cannot be the same person as the Title IX Coordinator, Investigator, or Decision-maker. The Appellate Decision-maker may be a school district employee, or a third party designated by the school district.

  • Professional Conduct Committee means the professional conduct committee established by the Council in terms of section 12(2)(b);
