Appointing Authorities definition

Appointing Authorities means the Board, if the appointment is made for faculty, or, if the appointment is made for non-faculty staff where the maximum of the pay scale exceeds the prevalent grade pay scale for Group ‘A’ Officers, and the Director, in all other cases;
Appointing Authorities means the Board, if the appointment is made on the academic staff in the post of Assistant Professor or above or if the appointment is made on the non-academic staff in every cadre, the maximum of the pay scale for which exceeds prevalent grade pay scale for Group A Officers and the Director, in any other case;
Appointing Authorities means the entities described in Section 4(a) of this act who are empowered to appoint Members of the Authority and referred to collectively as "Appointing Authorities" and individually as "Appointing Authority."

  • Appointing authority means the head of an employing unit authorized by ordinance or City Charter to employ others on behalf of the City, or a designated management representative.   • Government Authorities means, without limitation, all Government departments and agencies with responsibility for the import and export of goods, the collection of revenue on the import and export of goods and the transport of those goods to include, without limitation, Customs, AQIS, the ATO and the RSA;

  • Controlling Authority means the Minister administering the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984.

  • Canadian Securities Regulatory Authorities means the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada;

  • Governmental Authorities means any nation, government, province, state, or any entity, authority or body exercising executive, legislative, judicial, regulatory or administrative functions of or pertaining to government, including any government authority, agency, department, board, commission or instrumentality of any government or any political subdivision thereof, court, tribunal, arbitrator, the governing body of any securities exchange, and self-regulatory organization, in each case having competent jurisdiction (with each of such Governmental Authorities being referred to as a “Governmental Authority”).
