authorized authority means, in relation to any Person, transaction or event, any (a) federal, provincial, municipal or local governmental body (whether administrative, legislative, executive or otherwise), both domestic and foreign, (b) agency, authority, commission, instrumentality, regulatory body, court, central bank or other entity exercising executive, legislative, judicial, taxing, regulatory or administrative powers or functions of or pertaining to government, (c) court, arbitrator, commission or body exercising judicial, quasi-judicial, administrative or similar functions, and (d) other body or entity created under the authority of or otherwise subject to the jurisdiction of any of the foregoing, including any stock or other securities exchange, in each case having jurisdiction over such Person, transaction or event.
Authority or Housing Authority (HA) means the Housing Authority.
Approving Authority means a government (federal, provincial or municipal), governmental agency, Crown corporation, or quasi-governmental authority (a privately operated organization exercising authority delegated by legislation or a government).
requested authority means a competent administrative authority which has been appointed by a Party for this purpose and which receives a request for assistance in customs matters;
Contracting Authority means any contracting authority as defined in Regulation 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2006.
Governing authority means the local legislative authority
Authorized entity means a nonprofit organization or a governmental agency that has a primary mission to provide specialized services relating to training, education, or adaptive reading or information access needs of blind or other persons with disabilities;
Water Authority means the body corporate known as the Water Authority of Western Australia established by the Water Authority Xxx 0000;
Signing Authority means an officer or agent of the organization with written authorization to commit the legal entity to a binding agreement.
designated authority means any of the following;
former Authority means the Water Authority of Western Australia under the Water Authority Act 1984 2 before the commencement of Part 2 of the Water Agencies Restructure (Transitional and Consequential Provisions) Act 1995 3;
Combined Authority means an authority established under section 103(1) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 or an authority to which a delegation of the Secretary of State’s functions has been made under section 39A of the Greater London Authority Act 1999;
your authority ("eich awdurdod") means the relevant authority of which you are a member or co-opted member.
Host Authority means the local authority appointed by the Parties under these arrangements to lead on a specified matter or function as set out in paragraphs 14 and 19.
Authorized nuclear pharmacist means a pharmacist who:
Revisional Authority means an authority appointed or authorised for revision of decision or orders as referred to in section 108;
Authorized Government Agency means a regulatory body or government agency, with jurisdiction over PJM, the PJM Market, or any entity doing business in the PJM Market, including, but not limited to, the Commission, State Commissions, and state and federal attorneys general.
Regional authority means the Director General of Foreign Trade appointed under section 6 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (22 of 1992) or an officer authorised by him to grant an authorisation including a duty credit scrip under the said Act.
Appointing authority means the head of an employing unit authorized by ordinance or City Charter to employ others on behalf of the City, or a designated management representative. The term includes and can be used interchangeably with department head, department director, superintendent, and chief.

Control authority means the commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Approval Authority means the authority of a Member State with competence for all aspects of the approval of a type of vehicle, system, component or separate technical unit or of the individual approval of a vehicle; for the authorisation process, for issuing and, if appropriate, withdrawing approval certificates; for acting as the contact point for the approval authorities of other Member States; for designating the technical services and for ensuring that the manufacturer meets his obligations regarding the conformity of production;
Appeal authority means the executive authority of the municipality or any other body or institution outside of the municipality authorised by that municipality to assume the obligations of an appeal authority for purposes of appeals lodged in terms of the Act;
Awarding Authority means a subordinate or component entity or person of the City (such as a City department or Board of Commissioners) that has the authority to enter into a contract or agreement for the provision of goods or services on behalf of the City of Los Angeles.
Competent Supervisory Authority means a supervisory authority which has jurisdiction in relation to the activities of a controller or processor under European data protection law in a particular Member State;
Requesting Authority means the Authority making a request under this MoU.
