Law enforcement agency means the same as that term is defined in Section 53-1-102.
Local law enforcement agency means the police of a city, town, village or other incorporated area or the sheriff of an unincorporated area or any sworn officer of the Illinois Department of State Police.
Civil Enforcement Officer means a person authorised by or on behalf of Lancashire County Council in accordance with Section 76 of the Traffic Management Act 2004;

Compliance Enforcement Authority means NERC or the Regional Entity, or any entity as otherwise designated by an Applicable Governmental Authority, in their respective roles of monitoring and/or enforcing compliance with mandatory and enforceable Reliability Standards in their respective jurisdictions.
Legitimate law enforcement purpose means a goal within the lawful authority of an officer that is to be achieved through methods or conduct condoned by the officer’s appointing authority.
Code enforcement officer means the Code Enforcement Officer appointed pursuant to subdivision (b) of section 3 of this local law.

Bylaw Enforcement Officer means a person or persons appointed from time to time by resolution of City Council pursuant to Section 36 of the Police Act, the purpose of which is to enforce regulatory bylaws of the municipality.
By-law Enforcement Officer means a municipal law enforcement officer of the Corporation of the County of Prince Edward who is duly appointed by the Council of the Corporation for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of the Corporation’s By-laws.
Business with which he is associated means any business of which a public servant or his relative is an officer, director, owner, partner, employee or is a holder of more than ten percent (10%) of the fair market value or from which he or his relative derives more than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) in annual income or over which such public servant or his relative exercises control.
Municipal Law Enforcement Officer means a person appointed under the authority of the Police Services Act for the purpose of enforcing City by-laws.
Chief law enforcement officer means the chief of police of cities and towns and sheriffs of counties, unless a political subdivision has otherwise designated its chief law-enforcement officer by appropriate resolution or ordinance, in which case the local designation shall be controlling.
Enforcement agency means any agency granted authority to enforce the Federal labor laws. It includes the enforcement components of DOL (Wage and Hour Division, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. It also means a State agency designated to administer an OSHA-approved State Plan, but only to the extent that the State agency is acting in its capacity as administrator of such plan. It does not include other Federal agencies which, in their capacity as contracting agencies, conduct investigations of potential labor law violations.
