Band Development definition

Band Development means the investment and utilization of Trust Property for and on behalf of the Band for the purpose of Business, acquisition of Land, Minerals or Improvements (including Entitlement Land), or any project for the use, development, advantage or benefit of the Band or Members of the Band which is undertaken in accordance with the terms of the Trust Agreement;
Band Development means an activity that is for the benefit of the membership including: (i) purchase or construction of lands, buildings, infrastructure, equipment and related assets for the benefit of the Band, and (ii) construction of facilities and infrastructure related to social, cultural and recreational programs.
Band Development means the investment and/or utilization of money in the Band Account for the following purposes: (a) Business; (b) Acquisition of Land or Improvements; or (c) Any socio-economic benefit, or any other program, service or project which is for the use, development, advantage or benefit of the First Nation or a Member, excluding, however, per capita distributions to the Members and payments to the First Nation to cover any shortfall in operating funding of the First Nation other than those specifically provided for in this Agreement;

  • For greater certainty, Advisory Committee members shall only approve a BCR Band Development (Capital) Direction, a BCR Land Acquisition Direction or a BCR Authorized Loan / Loan Guarantee Direction after the same direction in the applicable BCR has been approved by the Advisory Committee in accordance with this Subsection at a duly convened meeting of the Advisory Committee.

  • Where a meeting of the Eligible Members to be held in accordance with section 27.01 or the decision with respect to a particular request or proposal for Band Development is postponed for any reason, then sections 27.01 to 27.03 shall apply to any subsequent meeting called in respect of the same subject matter.

  • This would allow the Trustees to accommodate more significant Band Development needs.

  • Subsection 8.2(c) would be amended to allow Trustees to transfer up to 25% of the previous year’s Net Income to a single Band Development.

  • The Trustees are hereby authorized and empowered to use Trust Property in the Trust Revenue Account for a Band Development or Benefit in accordance with the provisions and subject to the restrictions set out in this section.
