Biological Waste definition

Biological Waste means solid waste that causes or has the capability of causing disease or infection and includes biomedical waste, animals that died from disease, and other wastes capable of transmitting pathogens to humans or animals. The term does not include human remains that are disposed of by persons licensed under Chapter 470, F.S.
Biological Waste means Solid Waste that causes or has the capability of causing disease or infection and includes, but is not limited to, Biomedical Waste, diseased or dead animals, and other wastes capable of transmitting pathogens to humans or animals.
Biological Waste means blood and blood products, excretions, exudates, secretions, suctionings and other body fluids that cannot be directly discarded into a municipal sewer system, and waste materials saturated with blood or body fluids, but does not include diapers soiled with urine or feces.

More Definitions of Biological Waste

Biological Waste means waste from a hospital, medical clinic, medical laboratory, dental laboratory, dental clinic, health care facility, necropsy facility, research laboratory, biological research facility which contains or may contain one or more of the following:
Biological Waste means waste that is created in a hospital, necropsy facility or biological research laboratory and contains or may contain pathogenic agents that may cause disease in persons exposed to the waste.
Biological Waste means any material created or used in a medical, health care, veterinary, mortuary or biological research facility which contains or reasonably may contain pathogenic agents that may result in a negative health impact on persons.
Biological Waste means discarded biological material from teaching, clinical, and research laboratories and operations. This does not include household or office trash, waste from Food Services, Physical Plant, bedding and manure from normal agricultural operations or bedding and litter from noninfectious animals. "BIOHAZARDOUS WASTE1" means any solid or liquid biological waste that is hazardous because of its physical and/or biological nature. All waste that contains infectious material or which, because of its biological nature, may be harmful to humans, animals, plants or the environment is biohazardous waste. This includes: waste from infectious animals; bulk human blood or blood products; microbiological waste; pathological waste; sharps; and hazardous products of recombinant DNA biotechnology and genetic manipulation.
