Computer Operating System definition

Computer Operating System means programs which, among other things, control the allocation and usage of hardware resources in a Personal Computer such as memory, CPU time, disk space and peripheral devices. The Computer Operating System is the foundation software on which applications depend. Computer Operating Systems include, but are not limited to, Linux, Windows, Mac OS, and Unix.
