The Contractor must obtain a Notice of Intent to Use Noticed General Permit for Short Term Construction Dewatering (Form 40C-22-0590-1) prior to the commencement of any dewatering.
The Design-Builder shall be responsible for handling, treating, discharging and/or disposing of any contaminated water removed from excavations per the Part 5 – Special Provisions – Handling and Treatment of Contaminated Construction Dewatering Fluids.
Instructions (CGP 1.2.5. and 2.3.7.):If you will be discharging storm water that is removed from excavations, trenches, foundations, vaults, or other similar points of accumulation, it must be permitted by UPDES permit UTG070000 (Construction Dewatering and Hydrostatic Testing Permit) unless it can be managed onsite through percolation or evaporation.
