Court staff definition

Court staff means persons under the supervision of the clerk of the supreme court and court of appeals, a clerk of circuit court, a circuit court commissioner, a register in probate, a district court administrator, a circuit court judge, or a municipal court judge.
Court staff means employees of the court, including full-time, part-time, temporary, or contract employees, interns, externs, volunteers, and employees of the several counties while engaged in support of a judge in the performance of judicial duties, but does not include lawyers advocating for or representing a party in a proceeding before a judge.
Court staff means any municipal, county, or state employees or contractors assigned to perform duties in court facilities, including but not limited to probation officers, court security personnel, court clerks, court administrators, interpreters, court facilitators, and bailiffs.
