Doctoral Stipend definition

Doctoral StipendAdjunct faculty who hold an earned doctoral degree and who teach a class of five credits or more will be paid 5% more per hour above their teaching rate (standard or enhanced) for that class. The doctoral enhancement is not paid on contract training, community or continuing education classes. Stipends for Adjunct Faculty: Adjunct faculty may accept an assignment to perform additional work not included in their contract. Adjunct faculty may receive a stipend for any work in an amount to be determined by an estimate of the work involved. The faculty member’s supervisor must approve the stipend prior to work beginning; the stipend will be paid after the completion of the work. Adjunct faculty may not be asked to perform duties beyond those described in their contract or in the scope of any additional stipend.
Doctoral StipendIn addition to the salaries specified above, administrative employees who possess an appropriate earned doctorate shall be paid an additional stipend of $3000.00 per year. Administrative employees who have completed the following units and degree requirements shall be deemed to possess the equivalent of an earned doctorate and shall also be paid the additional stipend of $2500.00 per year. An approved program consisting of an earned Master's Degree and 90 upper division and graduate units beyond the BA Degree from colleges and universities accredited by the Commission For Teacher Preparation and Licensing, of which at least 35 units must be at the graduate level. These 35 units must give evidence of a planned program of advance study appropriate to service in the public schools. Not more than 30 of these 90 units may be in equivalents. Members with a Master's Degree shall receive an annual stipend of $1200.00 per year.
