Financially Indigent definition

Financially Indigent means an Uninsured Patient with an annual income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Financially Indigent means a patient whose Yearly Household Income (as defined below in section 5.2.i) is less than or equal to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines ("FPG"). These Financially Indigent patients are eligible for a 100% discount on patient account balances based on Schedule A of the Financial Assistance Eligibility Discount Guidelines (Attachment B).
Financially Indigent means an uninsured or underinsured person who is accepted for care with no obligation or a discounted obligation to pay for the services rendered based on the hospital's eligibility system.

Examples of Financially Indigent in a sentence

  • A patient must be Financially Indigent or Medically Indigent at the time of application.

  • The financial criteria does not set the income level for financial assistance lower than that required by Texas counties under Section 61.023 of the Indigent Health Care & Treatment Act or higher; in the case of the Financially Indigent, than 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

  • Proof of Participation in any of the above programs indicates that the patient has been deemed Financially Indigent and therefore, is not required to provide his or her income on the Assistance Application.
