Uninsured patient: An “uninsured patient” is a patient who has no third-party source of payment for any portion of their medical expenses, including but not limited to, commercial or other health insurer, health care service plan, Medicare, or Medicaid/Medi-Cal, or third party liability.
Uninsured patient - a patient who is without health insurance for whom the payor responsible for payment of the bill for hospital services rendered is the patient, the patient’s parent or guardian or another responsible person, who is not a third party payor and who is not subsequently reimbursed by another payor for the cost of any of the services rendered to the patient.
Any patient whose Family Income is at or below 250% of the FPL, including, without limitation, any Uninsured patient or Patient with High Medical Costs, is eligible to receive Charity Care equal to a 100% discount from his or her account balance for eligible services provided to the patient after payment, if any, by any third party(ies).
If it is determined after complete evaluation of the Application that a patient does not qualify for financial assistance under this policy, and the patient does not have insurance, the Uninsured patient Pay Discount policy will apply.
Uninsured patient services will be provided using available community support and sliding-scale fee services.
