Flood Affected Areas definition

Flood Affected Areas means those portions of the communities of Draper, Waterways, Ptarmigan Court, the Lower Townsite of Fort McMurray and the TaigaNova Eco Industrial Park all in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo that were subject to flooding on or after Sunday April 26, as identified
Flood Affected Areas means the areas affected by the floods occurred between February and April 2024 within the six catchments as indicated in the PIM, or any additional area as agreed by the Recipient and the Association.
Flood Affected Areas means those portions of the communities of Draper, Waterways, Ptarmigan Court, the Lower Townsite of Fort McMurray and the TaigaNova Eco Industrial Park all in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo that were subject to flooding on Sunday April 26, as identified as "Flood Affected Areas" on the legend within the attached plan, forming Schedule "A1" to this Bylaw.

  • Provision of emergency support in the Flood Affected Areas, through infrastructure investments, including: (a) protection and reparation of critical infrastructures, including paving of roads and emergency investments for the protection of critical water infrastructure; (b) protection of lakeshore; (c) cleaning and rehabilitation of flooded areas and drainage channels; (d) rehabilitation of riverbanks; (e) acquisition of construction equipment and machinery.

  • Restricted Areas means (i) all areas within a Facility that are not generally accessible to the public, including judges’ xxxxxxxx, all non-public restrooms, elevators, break rooms, and corridors, in-custody holding, Sheriff areas and other non- public spaces that are dedicated for use only by judges or Court staff and employees, and (ii) public areas of a Facility during non-business hours that are subject to security screening during normal business hours.

  • protected area means an area that is or has to be listed in the register referred to in section 10 of the Protected Areas Act;

  • Coastal high hazard area means a Special Flood Hazard Area extending from offshore to the inland limit of a primary frontal dune along an open coast and any other area subject to high velocity wave action from storms or seismic sources. The area is designated on a FIRM, or other adopted flood map as determined in Article 3, Section B of this ordinance, as Zone VE.

  • designated area means any area which may from time to time be designated by Order in Council under the Continental Shelf Act 1964 as an area within which the rights of the United Kingdom with respect to the seabed and subsoil and their natural resources may be exercised;

  • Tidal Flood Hazard Area means a flood hazard area in which the flood elevation resulting from the two-, 10-, or 100-year storm, as applicable, is governed by tidal flooding from the Atlantic Ocean. Flooding in a tidal flood hazard area may be contributed to, or influenced by, stormwater runoff from inland areas, but the depth of flooding generated by the tidal rise and fall of the Atlantic Ocean is greater than flooding from any fluvial sources. In some situations, depending upon the extent of the storm surge from a particular storm event, a flood hazard area may be tidal in the 100-year storm, but fluvial in more frequent storm events.

  • Flood-related erosion area management means the operation of an overall program of corrective and preventive measures for reducing flood-related erosion damage, including but not limited to emergency preparedness plans, flood-related erosion control works and floodplain management regulations.

  • Restricted Area means an area, access to which is limited by the licensee or registrant for the purpose of protecting individuals against undue risks from exposure to sources of radiation. Restricted area does not include areas used as residential quarters, but separate rooms in a residential building may be set apart as a restricted area.

  • Special Flood Hazard Area means an area that FEMA’s current flood maps indicate has at least a one percent (1%) chance of a flood equal to or exceeding the base flood elevation (a 100-year flood) in any given year.

  • Floodplain or flood-prone area means any land area susceptible to being inundated by water from any source (see definition of “flood”).

  • Special Hazard Area means an area having special flood, mudslide (i.e., mudflow) and/or flood-related erosion hazards, and shown on an FHBM or FIRM as Zone A, AO, A1-30, AE, A99, or AH.

  • Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA means the land in the floodplain subject to a one percent (1%) or greater chance of being flooded in any given year, as determined in Article 3, Section B of this ordinance.

  • Controlled area means an area, outside of a restricted area but inside the site boundary, access to which can be limited by the licensee or registrant for any reason.

  • Area of special flood hazard means the land in the floodplain within a community subject to a one percent or greater chance of flooding in any given year.

  • Regulated area means any portion of an eradication zone designated for any purpose necessary to the execution of the Boll Weevil Eradication Program.

  • Flood fringe means the portion of the floodplain outside the floodway that is usually covered with water from the 100-year flood or storm event. This includes, but is not limited to, the flood or floodway fringe designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
