Ghost Card definition

Ghost Card means an account that is used with an awarded Contractor on behalf of an agency, department, program and/or unit. Ghost accounts are not point-of-sale (POS) cards; therefore, they do not have a magnetic stripe or a chip reader. However, white plastic cards are still issued and include the designated account name, card number, expiration date and CVV2. When a ghost account is assigned to a specific Contractor, any purchase made with that Contractor by someone with the Purchasing Entity will be charged to that account. The Traveler or Travel Coordinator booking travel on behalf of the Traveler(s) typically provide a cost center or some other budget identifier as their POS or customer code to ensure the transaction is posted to the appropriate department, program or unit.
Ghost Card means; a) a single Purchasing Card account number that is assigned to a Contractor for high volume purchases; b) a payment method for utility services and leases or for acquiring goods and/or services off an established contract; c) a single Purchasing Card account number for use during a declared Municipally Emergency.
Ghost Card means an account number linked to a purchasing account which an organization uses to conduct Transactions for goods and services with respect to which there is no physical card issued to Clients.
