Hedge definition

Hedge or “hedging” means a strategy used to offset or reduce the risk associated with an investment or a group of investments.
Hedge means any future derivative, swap, collar, put, call, cap, option or other contract that is intended to benefit from, relate to, or reduce or eliminate the risk of fluctuations in interest rates, basis risk or the price of commodities, including Hydrocarbons.
Hedge or ‘Hedging’ shall mean any trade which is executed and has the intent or effect of reducing the risk of adverse price movements in another trade.
