Hospital Confined definition

Hospital Confined means an overnight stay as a registered resident bed-patient in a Hospital.

Hospital Confined means admitted to and confined as a patient in a Hospital upon the recommendation of a Physician.

Hospital Confined means a stay of 24 or more consecutive hours as a registered resident bed-patient in a Hospital.

• While Hospital Confined and routine nursery care provided immediately after birth.

• However, if an Insured is Hospital Confined on the Termination Date from a covered Injury or Sickness for which benefits were paid before the Termination Date, Covered Medical Expenses for such Injury or Sickness will continue to be paid as long as the condition continues but not to exceed 90 days after the Termination Date.

• Hospital Confined or home confined at the direction of his/her Physician due to Injury or Sickness, except for trips away from home to receive medical treatment.

• However, if on the date of termination the Covered Person is Hospital Confined, then coverage under this benefit provision continues until the earlier of the date the Hospital Confinement ends or the end of the 31st day after the date of termination.

• Daily Hospital Confinement Benefit We will pay the Daily Hospital Confinement Benefit shown in the Schedule of Benefits if a Covered Person is Hospital Confined as an inpatient and all of the following conditions are met:1.

• Hospital Confined or Hospital Confinement means a stay of eighteen (18) or more consecutive hours as a resident bed patient in a Hospital.

• However, if the Covered Person is Hospital Confined on the Termination Date, eligibility for this benefit continues until the earlier of the date the Covered Person’s Confinement ends or 31 days after the Termination Date.

• Hospital Room and Board Expenses: the average daily rate for a semi private room when a Covered Person is Hospital Confined and general nursing care is provided and charged for by the Hospital.

• Daily Intensive Care Unit Expenses: three times the average semi private room rate when a Covered Person is Hospital Confined in a bed in the Intensive Care Unit and nursing services other than private duty nursing services.

More Definitions of Hospital Confined

Hospital Confined means a stay as a registered bed-patient in a Hospital. If a Covered Person is admitted to and discharged from a Hospital within a 24-hour period but is confined as a bed-patient during for the duration in the Hospital, the admission shall be considered a Hospital Confinement.

Hospital Confined means a stay of 18 or more consecutive hours as a registered resident bed-patient in a Hospital. One period of confinement means consecutive days of in hospital service received as an inpatient, or successive confinements when discharge from and readmission to the hospital for the treatment of the same or related condition occurs within a period of time not more than 90 days or three times the maximum number of days of in-hospital coverage provided by the policy to a maximum of 180 days.
