The role of the IDMC is to provide independent advice on data and safety aspects of the trial.
The IDMC will meet within 6 months of the trial opening with the frequency of meetings dictated by the IDMC.
It is recommended that an Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC) is appointed in order to review safety data regularly throughout the trial and when necessary, recommend to the Sponsor whether to continue, modify or terminate the trial.
