Inpatient days definition

Inpatient days means both of the following:
Inpatient days includes: a. Fee-for-service and managed care days, and b. Each day in which an individual (including a newborn) is an inpatient in the hospital, whether or not the individual is in a specialized xxxx, and whether or not the individual remains in the hospital for lack of suitable placement elsewhere.
Inpatient days means all days during which a resident, regardless of payment source, occupies a bed in an ICFIID that is included in the ICFIID's certified capacity under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, 49 stat. 620 , 42 U.S.C.A. 301, as in effect on the effective date of this rule. Bed-hold days determined in accordance with rule 5123:2-7-08 of the Administrative Code are considered inpatient days proportionate to the percentage of the ICFIID's per resident per day rate paid for those days.

  • Inpatient days not authorized by the QIO-like vendor are not covered.

  • Partial days/Intensive Outpatient days may be substituted for Inpatient days on a 1:1 ratio.
