ISDN definition

ISDN refers to a digital circuit switched network service. Basic Rate ISDN (BRI) provides for channelized (two (2) bearer and one (1) data) end- to-end digital connectivity for the transmission of voice or data on either or both bearer channels and packet data on the data channel. Primary Rate ISDN (PRI) provides for twenty-three (23) bearer channels and one (1) data channel. For BRI, the bearer channels operate at 64 Kbps and the data channel at 16 Kbps. For PRI, all twenty-four (24) channels operate at 64 Kbps or
ISDN means a switched network service that provides end-to-end digital connectivity for the simultaneous transmission of voice and data. Basic Rate Interface-ISDN (BRI-ISDN) provides for a digital transmission of two 64 Kbps bearer channels and one 16 Kbps data channel (2B+D).

More Definitions of ISDN

ISDN or “Integrated Services Digital Network” means a switched network service providing end-to-end digital connectivity for the simultaneous transmission of voice and data.
ISDN means ‘Integrated Services Digital Network’ which is a set of communications standards for simultaneous digital transmission of voice, video, data, and other network services over the traditional circuits of the public switched telephone network;
ISDN means a set of communications standards allowing a single wire or optical fibre to carry voice, digital networks services and video;
ISDN means Integrated Services Digital Network, an international communications standard for sending voice, video, and data over telephone lines. ISDN services are supplied as Basic Rate (BRI), consisting of two 64-Kbps B-channels and one D-channel for transmitting control information, or Primary Rate (PRI), consisting of 30 B-channels (23 in the US) and one D-channel. PRI subsets comprising fewer B-channels are sometimes also available.
ISDN means Integrated Services Digital Network, which is defined as Switched Services Digital Network providing end-to-end digital connection for simultaneous transmission of voice or data over multiple, multiplexed
