LENGTH OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD definition

LENGTH OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD. The probationary period is 1,040 hours exclusive of overtime. If federal, state or local law requires a longer probationary period, such law shall prevail. The probationary period for a part-time employee shall equal the same number of hours (1,040) that have to be served by a full-time employee.

  • Probationary Period means a working test period during which an employee is required to demonstrate his fitness for the position to which he/she is appointed by actual performance of its duties.

Conversion from full-time or part-time status to casual status shall be considered a break in service and no period of casual employment or prior full-time or part-time employment in a permanent or term position shall be included in an employee’s length of employment or length of service even when a casual employee subsequently becomes a full-time or part-time employee.

  • Month of Service means a calendar month in which an employee is in receipt of full salary or wages in respect of the prescribed number of working hours in each working day in the month and includes a calendar month in which an employee is absent on special leave without pay not in excess of twenty (20) working days.

  • STIPULATED HOURS OF SERVICE PER DAY means hours of duty per day, normal hours/timings of duty whereof shall be determined by the Company's Engineer for which fixed charge shall be payable.
