Life Threatening Cancer definition

Life Threatening Cancer means a malignant neoplasm (including hematologic malignancy), as diagnosed by a Physician who is a board certified oncologist, and which is characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of malignant cells and the invasion of tissue, and which is not specifically excluded. The following types of cancer are not considered a Life Threatening Cancer: (1) early prostate cancer diagnosed as T2c or less according to the TNM scale; (2) colorectal cancer diagnosed as T2, N1, M0 or less according to the TNM scale; (3) breast cancer diagnosed as T3, N2, M0 or less according to the TNM scale; (4) First Carcinoma in Situ; (5) pre-malignant lesions (such as intraepithelial neoplasia); (6) brain glioma; (7) benign tumors or polyps;

For the purpose of this benefit, Alzheimer's disease shall be evidenced by a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease from a neurologist licensed in the United States. The term Alzheimer's disease does not include neuroses or psychotic illness.
