Long Shift definition

Long Shift means a period of time worked where the first and second part of the shift are separated by not more than one hours unpaid break.

Examples of Long Shift in a sentence

  • Section 1: The Fire Department shall operate on two basic shifts, one which shall hereinafter be known as "The Long Shift", a twenty-four-hour period, commencing at 800 hours and ending at 0800 hours the next day; and the other hereinafter shall be known as "The Short Shift", either an eight (8) hour or a ten (10) hour period commencing and ending on the same day.

Related to Long Shift

  • Day Shift means a shift which commences at or after 6.00 am and before 10.00 am. "Afternoon shift" means a shift which commences at or after 10.00 am and before 4.00 pm.
