Long Shift definition

Long Shift means a period of time worked where the first and second part of the shift are separated by not more than one hours unpaid break.

Examples of Long Shift in a sentence

  • Section 1: In the event of a death in the immediate family of an employee, employees working on the Long Shift shall be one (1) shift off with pay and no loss of benefits.

  • A Long Shift employee shall receive one hundred forty-four (144) hours of holidays pay per year in lieu of receiving paid holiday leave.

  • For FLSA purposes, the City shall have the right to determine the work period for personnel assigned to both the Combat Force (Long Shift), and the Short Shift.

  • Section 2: For those employees assigned to the Long Shift, a sleep period shall be scheduled during each shift.

  • Section 1: The Fire Department shall operate on two basic shifts, one which shall hereinafter be known as "The Long Shift", a twenty-four-hour period, commencing at 800 hours and ending at 0800 hours the next day; and the other hereinafter shall be known as "The Short Shift", either an eight (8) hour or a ten (10) hour period commencing and ending on the same day.

  • The establishment of a one, two or three shift system under this Article does not affect the Company's ability to continue to operate regular "Day Work Conditions" as specified in Article or "Long Shift Conditions" as specified in Article for other employees so assigned.

  • Section 3: Employees assigned to the Long Shift shall receive one (1) "▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇" (defined to mean a day off on a day on which the employee would normally be scheduled to work) for each seven (7) shifts the employee is scheduled to work.

  • Each full-time employee on the Long Shift who has not completed five (5) years of service with the City shall accumulate vacation leave at the rate of .04807 hours per each regular hour worked.

  • Since the total number of regular hours of work for an employee on the Long Shift is 2,496 hours per year, the total maximum sick hours earned shall be 144 216 hours per year.

  • Section 1: Upon ratification of this Agreement, each full-time employee on the Long Shift shall accumulate sick leave at the maximum rate of 0.08654 hours for each regular hour worked.

Related to Long Shift

  • Day Shift means a shift which commences at or after 6.00 am and before 10.00 am. "Afternoon shift" means a shift which commences at or after 10.00 am and before 4.00 pm.

  • Long Stop Date has the meaning given to it in Clause 4.3;

  • ro-ro passenger ship means a passenger ship provided with cargo or vehicle spaces not normally subdivided in any way and extending to either a substantial length or the entire length of the ship in which vehicles or cargo can be loaded or unloaded in a horizontal direction;

  • Level 4 means a project of greater than 550 kWac and not more than 1 MWac.

  • Level 5 means a project of greater than 2 MWac.
