Probationary Review Committee definition

Probationary Review Committee means a committee composed of three (3) Tenured Faculty Members who hold Faculty Appointments, one (1) student representative who shall be a full-time student chosen by the Student Association of the College and one (1) member with Administrative responsibilities. A separate Probationary Review Committee shall be established for each Full-time Probationer which shall serve as a standing committee until such time as the Probationer is either granted Tenure or his/her employment in a Probationary Faculty Appointment is terminated. Each Probationary Review Committee shall be composed of five (5) persons, three (3) of whom shall be Tenured Faculty Members selected by the Union from among the Tenured Faculty within thirty (30) days of the Probationer’s first Full-time Appointment. At least one (1) of these Faculty shall be a subject area peer of the Probationer. The President shall appoint one (1) professional as the fourth member of the Committee. It shall be the responsibility of the Presidential appointee to call the first meeting of the Probationary Review Committee. The fifth member shall be a full-time student chosen by the Student Association. The Committee shall choose one of its members as a chairperson. If a vacancy occurs on the Committee, the same process for selection of a replacement shall be followed as applied in the selection of the original member. Furthermore, the composition of the Committee for Probationary Faculty members appointed prior to the effective date of this policy will be made within thirty (30) days following its adoption.

The majority of the committee shall consist of the probationer’s faculty peers. A separate probationary review committee shall be established for each full-time probationer and shall serve as a standing committee until such time as the probationer is either granted tenure or his/her employment in a probationary faculty appointment is terminated. Each probationary review committee shall be composed of five (5) persons. Three (3) tenured faculty members selected by a majority of the tenured and probationary faculty members acting in a body within thirty (30) days of the probationer’s first regular college year. The President shall appoint a college administrator as the fourth member of the committee who shall serve as Chairperson. The fifth member shall be a full-time student chosen by the student association of the College. If a vacancy occurs on the committee, the same process for selecting a replacement should be followed as applied in the selection of the original member.

Examples of Probationary Review Committee in a sentence

  • The Board agrees that any decision to grant or deny tenure which is contrary to the Probationary Review Committee recommendations will be immediately disclosed to both the probationer and the applicable Probationary Review Committee.

  • Probationary faculty in a tenure track will develop a three-year professional development plan that is updated annually with their Probationary Review Committee.

  • A Probationary Review Committee will be established for each full-time probationer and will serve as a standing committee until such time as the probationer is either granted tenure or their employment in a probationary faculty appointment is terminated.

  • The Plan shall be assembled by the Probationer with the assistance of the Probationary Review Committee.

  • Probationary Professors are expected to complete 1 to 4 service units annually in coordination with the recommendations of their Probationary Review Committee.

  • The first order of business for each Probationary Review Committee will be to draw up an annual plan that it will follow in evaluating the performance and professional competence of the full-time probationer assigned thereto.

Related to Probationary Review Committee

  • Review Committee or “Committee” means a committee established pursuant to rule Chapter 67-60, F.A.C.

  • Peer review committee means one or more persons acting in a peer review capacity who also serve as an officer, director, trustee, agent, or member of any of the following:

  • independent review committee means the independent review committee of the investment fund established under National Instrument 81-107 Independent Review Committee for Investment Funds;

  • Grievance Committee means the Grievance Committee of the Bar.

  • Appeal Committee means the appeal committee established by the Council in terms of section 12(3)(a);

  • Advisory Committee means the Employer's Advisory Committee as from time to time constituted.

  • Architectural Review Committee or “ARC” shall mean the architectural review committee established by the Organization to review plans submitted to the Organization for architectural review.

  • Disciplinary Committee means any person or committee of persons, or any subcommittee thereof, that is author- ized by a self-regulatory organization to issue disciplinary charges, to con- duct disciplinary proceedings, to settle disciplinary charges, to impose dis- ciplinary sanctions or to hear appeals thereof.

  • Credentials Committee means the committee established by the Medical Advisory Committee to review applications for appointment and reappointment to the Professional Staff and to make recommendations to the Medical Advisory Committee and if no such committee is established it shall mean the Medical Advisory Committee;

  • Appeals Committee means a Committee or Tribunal duly appointed by by-law to conduct hearings under this By-law;

  • Management Committee means in the case of a Competition which is an unincorporated association, the management committee elected to manage the running of the Competition and where the Competition is incorporated it means the Board of Directors appointed in accordance with the articles of association of that company.

  • Banning Committee means a Committee constituted for the purpose of these guidelines by the competent authority. The members of this Committee shall not, at any stage, be connected with the tendering process under reference.

  • Ethics Committee means an independent body established in a Member State in accordance with the law of that Member State and empowered to give opinions for the purposes of this Regulation, taking into account the views of laypersons, in particular patients or patients' organisations;

  • Nomination Committee means the nomination committee of the Board established in accordance with Article 114;

  • Operating Committee means the Operating Committee of Epoch which meets frequently and is responsible for implementing the Company’s strategy, making operational decisions and overseeing the day-to-day running of the Company.

  • OH&S Committee is referred to hereafter, read “body nominated to implement policy on site”.

  • OPSI Advisory Committee means the committee established under Tariff, Attachment M, section III.G.

  • Procurement Committee means a Committee constituted by the Employer to perform the functions as such under the terms and conditions of Contract.

  • Selection Committee means a committee of individual(s) who evaluate and rank proposals; conduct negotiations; and makes a contract award recommendation to the District and its respective Committees.

  • Personal campaign committee means the committee appointed by a candidate to act for the candidate as provided in this chapter.

  • Apprenticeship committee means those persons designated by the sponsor to act for it in the administration of the program. A committee may be “joint,” i.e., composed of an equal number of representatives of the employer(s) and of the employees represented by a bona fide collective bargaining agent(s), and is established to conduct, operate, or administer an apprenticeship program and enter into apprenticeship agreements with apprentices. A committee may be “unilateral” or “nonjoint” and shall mean a program sponsor in which a bona fide collective bargaining agent is not a participant.

  • Search Committee means the Search Committee set up by the Senate under section 15 (2);

  • Architectural Control Committee means and refer to that committee constituted under Article 4 hereof for the review of Development Plans (as hereinafter defined) and other functions.
