Provisional Teachers definition

Provisional Teachers are those who are within their first three years of employment with the District, except for those who have at least two years of certificated employment with another school district in the state of Washington. Those with such experience shall be provisional only during their first year of employment with the District.
Provisional Teachers. For a struggling provisional teacher, the evaluator shall have made a good faith effort through the evaluation process to assist the teacher in making satisfactory progress toward remediating deficiencies by providing periodic feedback from the evaluator on the teacher’s progress toward addressing concerns. Provisional teachers shall not receive a formal probation. Provisional teacher non-renewal is governed by RCW 28A.405.220,is not limited to unsatisfactory status and such nonrenewal shall not be subject to the grievance process.

Examples of Provisional Teachers in a sentence

  • The following classroom teachers shall receive an annual comprehensive summative evaluation: Provisional Teachers and any classroom teacher who received a comprehensive summative evaluation performance rating of level 1 or level 2 in the previous school year.

  • Unless otherwise agreed, the written progress report is the form in the Educator Collaborative Assessment Program for Provisional Teachers.

  • All Provisional Teachers in the third year of provisional status shall be observed at least 6 three (3) times in the performance of his or her duties and the total observation time for 7 the school year shall not be less than ninety (90) minutes.

Related to Provisional Teachers

  • Occasional Teacher means an “Occasional Teacher” as defined in the Education Act.

  • Long Term Occasional Teacher means an Occasional Teacher who is employed for more than ten (10) consecutive instructional days as a replacement for one teacher.
