A Qualifying Medical Professional is a legally qualified practitioner of the healing arts who is: 1) acting within the scope of his or her license; 2) not a resident of Your household; and 3) not a member of Your immediate family (children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, siblings and their spouses).
Such proof must be in writing and, where applicable, attested to by a Qualifying Medical Professional.
We may, at any time and at our expense, require a secondary medical opinion by a Qualifying Medical Professional of our choosing in connection with (i) the prescription of Extended Medical Care, or (ii) the diagnosis of a Terminal Condition.
To qualify for this waiver, you must be first diagnosed by a Qualifying Medical Professional, on or after the first Contract Anniversary, as having a Qualifying Terminal Illness.
