Sick Leave Accrual definition

Sick Leave Accrual. Employees who either do not qualify for this Program or choose not to participate shall continue to earn, use and accumulate sick leave in accordance with Article X of this Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Sick Leave Accrual in this policy, means leave accrued by full-time employees at the rate of eight hours for each month of state employment and by a part-time employee on a proportionate basis.

Examples of Sick Leave Accrual in a sentence

  • Sick leave accrual will be based on actual hours on paid status in a pay period.

  • Sick leave accrual for full-time employees shall be as follows with proportionate accrual for less than full-time.

  • Sick leave accrual will commence with the first day of employment.

  • Sick leave accrual is 12 days per year (13 days per year for Law Enforcement Labor Services union members).

  • Sick leave accrual will be prorated for faculty serving less than full time.

  • Sick leave accrual for full-time employees will be based on actual hours on paid status in a pay period, except that there will be no loss in accrual for full-time employees for up to forty (40) hours per pay period for no more than two (2) consecutive pay periods for unpaid Union leave.

  • Sick leave accrual must be exhausted before taking an unpaid FMLA leave.

  • Sick leave accrual will not be credited during unpaid leave with the exception of time lost under Worker’s Compensation provisions.

  • Sick leave accrual will be based on continuous service to FAU only.

  • Sick leave accrual is for usage only and not subject to buy back and/or cash out.

Related to Sick Leave Accrual

  • Sick Leave means the period of time an employee is absent from work with or without pay, by virtue of sickness, quarantine, or accident, or out-of-town medical/dental referrals for which compensation is not payable under the Worker's Compensation Act.

  • Vacation means annual vacation with pay.

  • Paid sick leave – means paid leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.

  • Leave Salary means the monthly amount paid by the University to an employee who is on leave.

  • Early Retirement Date means the Retirement, as defined below, of the Executive on a date which occurs prior to the Executive attaining sixty-two (62) years of age, but after the Executive has attained fifty-five (55) years of age.

  • Severance Period shall have the meaning set forth in Section 5(b).

  • Early Retirement Age means the date that the Executive has attained age 55 and completed seven Years of Service.

  • Continuing Employee has the meaning set forth in Section 6.7(a).

  • Leave Year means the year ending with the anniversary date of the employee’s appointment.

  • Vacation Year means the twelve (12) month period commencing on the first (1st) day of April in each calendar year and concluding on the thirty-first (31st) day of March of the following calendar year.

  • Normal Retirement Date means the later of the Normal Retirement Age or Termination of Employment.

  • Retirement Date means the date as of which a Participant retires for reasons other than Total and Permanent Disability, whether such retirement occurs on a Participant's Normal Retirement Date or Late Retirement Date (see Section 6.1).

  • Accrued Benefits shall include the following amounts, payable as described herein: (i) all base salary for the time period ending with the Termination Date; (ii) reimbursement for any and all monies advanced in connection with the Executive's employment for reasonable and necessary expenses incurred by the Executive on behalf of the Company and its Affiliates for the time period ending with the Termination Date; (iii) any and all other cash earned through the Termination Date and deferred at the election of the Executive or pursuant to any deferred compensation plan then in effect; (iv) notwithstanding any provision of any bonus or incentive compensation plan applicable to the Executive, a lump sum amount, in cash, equal to the sum of (A) any bonus or incentive compensation that has been allocated or awarded to the Executive for a fiscal year or other measuring period under the plan that ends prior to the Termination Date but has not yet been paid (pursuant to Section 5(f) or otherwise) and (B) a pro rata portion to the Termination Date of the aggregate value of all contingent bonus or incentive compensation awards to the Executive for all uncompleted periods under the plan calculated as to each such award as if the Goals with respect to such bonus or incentive compensation award had been attained; and (v) all other payments and benefits to which the Executive (or in the event of the Executive's death, the Executive's surviving spouse or other beneficiary) may be entitled as compensatory fringe benefits or under the terms of any benefit plan of the Employer, including severance payments under the Employer's severance policies and practices in the form most favorable to the Executive that were in effect at any time during the 180-day period prior to the Effective Date. Payment of Accrued Benefits shall be made promptly in accordance with the Employer's prevailing practice with respect to clauses (i) and (ii) or, with respect to clauses (iii), (iv) and (v), pursuant to the terms of the benefit plan or practice establishing such benefits.
